Langka Wheel repair Race ramps

These are a few products or services that really might come in handy some day, so make a mental note that they exist. Click on the small images to go to the vendor web sites.

Langka Paint Repair system

Langka.com

Langka is a clever way to fix scratches and paint chips without having to wet sand. I personally think that I can get slightly better results by clearcoating my touchup paint, and then wet sanding and buffing the repair. But for those of you who just don't want to sand the surface of their C6, this is the way to go. NO orbital buffer, NO sanding, NO rubbing compounds. Check it out

WHEEL REPAIR

fixrim.com

You hit a pothole, dented your wheel. Have a nice set of polished aluminum or chrome wheels that have Curb-burn. Have an older wheel where the chrome is starting to peel off. Send your wheels to these guys and they'll make 'em look like new. Good reviews on them at corvetteforum.com, though I've not tried them yet myself. Their prices, and their before/after photos do look GREAT. Check 'em out, before you throw in the towel and buy new wheels altogether.

Many guys use "Rhino Ramps" to lift their Vette. All agree that you can back up onto these, but I'm not sure they work for the front wheels.

C5 on raceramps

Race ramps are specifically made for low profile cars like the C6. They will handle wheels that are 10" wide (which is how wide the C6 tires are). But about $180. And they'll take up a good amount of space in the garage. It's true that jacking the hard way (which I call the inexpensive, clever method) CAN take 1/2 hour to do just right, by the time you've set the car down on stands securely. So if you're looking for a much quicker method, and you have the $$$, check these out.

Still, for me the AC Hydraulics DK13HLQ is the best way to get the car up fast. But so many guys like these race ramps that I thought it deserved mentioning.
