WINDOW VALET

topdowntech.jpg

This is just a great gadget that you should get, provided more important things are done first, and you have some extra cash laying around. The price is $150, and it does not do anything to improve the performance of your vehicle. It's just a nice gadget to add if you can afford it.

What does it do?

  1. You press your C6 key fob to control it - no other remote is needed.
  2. You can make your windows open fully.
  3. You can make your windows close fully.
  4. You can crack your windows open 1/2 inch for parking on hot days.

All these things can be done from 50 to 100 feet away, in my own experimentation. It's most useful just to be able to open all the windows and cool the car down while you're walking toward the car, on hot days. And for convertible owners, when I go to work and want to close the car up, it's really nice to be able to close the top (which requires you to stand next to the car), then just close the door (windows are still down), and walk away. Give the FOB 3 "lock" presses as you walk away and the windows go up automatically.

Installation photos.

Nothing could be easier. The C6 already has a computer diagnostics port underneath the steering column. It's a hookup so that technicians can retrieve information, like error codes, from the car's electronic control module. So it's already there. All you have to do is find the port, and plug the Window Valet into it. Installation is about 30 seconds - and that's only if your drunk and doing it with one hand tied behind your back.
